The Divining Deck
A downloadable tool for Windows
Originally created to help prevent procrastination and decision paralysis, the Divining Deck is a software tool to help you make decisions, and get things done. Taking cues from deck-building games, the Divining Deck uses priority and card counts to build a deck of cards, from which the user draws from three suggestions.
While great for simplifying your decisions down, it's also useful if you want to make a customized deck of options for tabletop roleplaying games.
The Divining Deck offers the following features:
- A High/Medium/Low priority system that suggests order of importance in which tasks are handled first.*
- A strike system intended to incentivize working on tasks that have been put off a few times.*
- Tooltips for first-time users to learn the program.
- Lists of outstanding and completed tasks, so you can see your progress at a glance.
- Autosave feature for the last deck used, so decks can be put down and picked up again with ease.
- Save and append functionality - easily combine saved decks together.
- Two different draw modes: standard draw/discard and auto-shuffle on draw.
* This software is intended as decision support software, and as such does not enforce these rules. They are merely suggestions.

Gamifying productivity is definitely a rising trend and "The Divining Deck" has good core mechanics to kickstart a habit for keeping oneself in check. Creating "task" cards for a shuffled deck, you draw a hand of 3 and choose 1 to complete.
If you can get past the somewhat strange yet authentic art style, your human need to gamble and believe in fate is sure to be fulfilled while keeping you disciplined!
